Jhal Muri

Jhal Muri is one of the famous street food in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. It's spicy and chatpata evening snacks which can be prepared in no time.

Cooking Time: -
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins

  • Puffed rice/ muri: 1 &1/2 cup
  • Chanachur: 1/4 cup
  • Black chana: 1/4 cup ( soaked overnight)
  • Potato: 1 small( boiled,peeled and chopped)
  • Onion: 1 medium (finely chopped) 
  • Tomato: 1 small ( finely chipped)
  • Green chilies: 1-2 (finely chopped) 
  • Coriander leaves: few spring( finely chopped)
  • Lemon juice: 1&1/2 tsp
  • Mustard oil: 1 tsp
  • Red chili pwd: 1/2 tsp
  • Rostated cumin pwd: 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala: 1/4  tsp
  • Black salt: 1/4 tsp


  • Take the puffed rice/muri in in big bowl.
  • Combine the black chana, potato, onion, tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves. Mix well.

  • Add lemon juice, mustard oil, red chilli pwd, roasted cumin pwd, chaat masala and black salt, mix well.
  • Add chanachur and give a quick mix.
  • Serve and enjoy!!

  • Can add any other mixture of your choice.
  • Can add pickled mustard oil, it enhances the taste.
  • Can also add chopped cucumber.
