Chinese Veg Fried Rice

Chinese Veg Fried Rice is an Indo-Chinese rice preparation where rice is cooked separately and then mixed with fried veggies.


Cooking Time: 15-20 mins
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins


Long grain basmati rice: 1 cup
Carrot: 1(finely chopped)
Beans: 3-4 (finely chopped)
Cabbage: 1/4 cup (chopped)
Capsicum: 1/4 cup( finely chopped)
Spring onion: 2-3 tsp( finely chopped)
Green peas: 4-5 tbsp
Garlic: 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Soya sauce: 1 tsp
Pepper pwd: 1 tsp
Oil: 1-2 tsp
Salt to taste


  • Cook rice in pressure cooker or in pan and keep aside.
  • Heat  oil in a kadai/work, once the oil is hot, add garlic and saute for a min and then add  onions and fry for 2-3 min.

  • Add the rest of the vegetables and cook them on high heat for 3-4 mins.
  • Add the cooked  rice and mix well.
  • Add salt, pepper pwd and vinegar, mix well.
  • Cook on high heat for a min. Turn off flame.
  • Garnish with chopped spring onion greens and serve hot.

            • Chopping the veggies very fine helps in cooking faster. Sauteing the veggies in high flame gives a nice smoky flavour and also retains its crunchiness without the raw smell.
            • Make sure that rice are cooked  properly. Should not over cook or under cook the rice. Allow it to rest atleast for 30 mins.
            • Can also add soya sauce.
