Dudhouri/Rice Ball in Jaggery Syrup


This is a kind of dessert  which I'm eating from my childhood but never gain the confidence to prepare it my own kitchen, so whenever my mom or mother in-law visit my place I use to ask them to prepare it for me. From the time I started blogging my mom and Avi asked me to share this recipe as many people including me likes it but does not know how to prepare it, so few days back after coming back from native I thought to prepare it as mom gave me the jaggery and ask me to prepare it.  Mamma this one is for you !!!! You are the best !!!!


RECIPE:

Cooking Time: 20-3 mins
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins


Ingredients:


For the Rice ball:

  • Rice: 1/2 cup
  • Milk: 1/2 liter
  • Corn flour: 2-3 tbsp
  • Oil/ghee for deep frying

For the Syrup:

  • Jaggery: 1 cup
  • Water: 2 cup

Method:


For the Rice Ball:





  • Wash and pressure cook the rice and milk.
  • Once rice is cook then let it cool down. Add corn flour to the rice and mix well.


  • Divide the rice dough into lemon size ball.
  • Heat sufficient oil in pan/kadai.
  • Drop these ball in oil and fry till gloden brown in color on medium heat.
  • Once done, take out these ball on paper napkin. keep aside.

For the Jaggery Syrup:





  • In the large pan take jaggery and water.
  • Bring it to boil and cook for 3-4 mins om medium heat.
  • Add the fried rice ball and mix well. Make sure that ball are coated well.
  • Serve warm.



Note:
  • The rice texture should be of mashy texture.
  • If unable to make a ball then add more corn flour.
