Pav Bhaji



Pav Bhaji is one of the popular street food and loved by all age group. Since its raining here and I was carving for some good street food so I thought of making Pav Bhaji.



RECIPE:
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Preparation Time: 15-20 mins

Ingredients:
  • Potatoes: 2 medium( boiled and smashed)
  • Beans: 1/3 cup ( finely chopped)
  • Cauliflower: 1/2 cups ( finely chopped)
  • Peas: 1/3 cup 
  • Carrots: 1/2 cup (grated)
  • Capsicum: 1/4 cup ) finely chopped)
  • Onion: 1 large( finely chopped)
  • Tomato: 2 medium (finely chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
  • Green chilies: 2 (finely chopped)
  • Red chili: 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice: 1&1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Jeera/cumin seed: 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves: few string
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter as required
  • Pav/bread buns: 6


Method:




  • Heat the oil in kadai/pan and add jeera and green chilli.
  • When jeera start splutter then add Onion and saute till onion is transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell leaves.
  • Add the finely chopped cauliflower and beans cook for 4-5  mins or till veggies gets soft then add the grated carrot, capsicum and peas, mix well and cook for another 4-5 mins.


  • Add the chopped tomato and cook till tomatoes are soft.
  • Add chilli pwd, turmeric pwd, pav bhaji masala and salt, mix well and cook for around 5 mins.


  • Add mashed potato and coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for a min.
  • smash the mixture with potato masher and  and add little water. 
  • Simmer the heat/flame and bring it to boil.


  • Once gravy starts to thicken, turnoff the heat. 
  • Add lemon juice and butter, mix well. 
  • Toast the halves pav/bun using butter over medium heat until buns are golden brown from both sides.
  • Serve toasted Pav/ buns with Bhaji.



Note:
  • You can boil all the veggies and can add then together to make it easier.
  • Can add other veggies of your choice.
  • Use butter for cooking Bhaji, it taste awesome.
