Lachha Paratha

The layers and crispiness of lachha paratha makes it different from other paratha. It is quit tricky to make make but taste delicious. When I was making lachha paratha for first time, I was not very sure about how it will come out, but  it came out with perfect layer and crispiness. Now at home it is made very often and everyone likes it.

RECIPE:

Cooking Time: 15-20 mins
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins

Ingredients:
  • Wheat Flour: 1&1/2 cup
  • Oil: 4-5 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Method:

  • Combine the flour, tbsp ghee, salt and mix well and then add little water at a time to make a smooth dough.
  • Divide into size equal balls. Roll into big circle and then apply  ghee evenly on the top.

  • Sprinkle little  flour and again spread evenly and make fleets( as shown in pic).

  • When done,  make a flat round as shown in pic.
  • Roll without applying too much pressure to ensure the layers are still there.

  • Heat tawa/griddle and place the paratha carefully. Once bubbles starts appearing turn to other side and apply ghee. Cook on both sides till brown spots appear.(make sure that paratha cooked evenly)
  • Pat gently the sides of the paratha to highlight the layers.
  • Serve hot with any curry of your choice.

Note:
  • Can replace 1/2 cup of atta/wheat flour with maida to make it more tasty.
