Matar Paneer


                                       

Matar Paneer is an North Indian dish consisting of paneer and peas in a slightly spicy gravy. It is usually served with paratha, poori, naan. Some people prefer to take it with rice preparations. 

RECIPE:


Cooking Time : 25-30 

Preparation Time :15-20 

Serve: 2-3

Ingredients:

Paneer cubes 200 grm
Matar/green peas 3/4 cup
Onion 2 large size(for making paste) and 1 small(finely chopped)
Tomato 2 medium size
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Turmeric pwd 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder 1/3 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Kitchen king masala 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp 
Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste 
Cooking oil
Coriander leaves finely chopped


Method:
  1. Heat  1-2 tsp oil in pan and fry paneer for a min and transfer it to warm water (this keeps paneer soft).
  2. Heat 1-2 tsp oil in pan and add chopped onion saute for 2-4 min then add chopped tomato and   saute for 2-4 min. Cool down the onion tomato mixture and then grind it.
  3. Now take 2-3 tsp oil in pan  and add ginger garlic paste cook for min then add chopped onion and cook until it turn light brown in color then add the onion tomato paste,and all dry powders masala and cook until oil start separating.
  4. Now  add water(as per desire thickness) and bring it to boil.
  5. Now add  peas and cook for 4-5 min then add paneer cube, coriander leaves mix well and tern off the flame.
  6.  Serve with roti/paratha/rice/pulao.
