Aloo Tikki Chat



Aloo Tikki Chat is my brother's favorite. Whenever he comes to my place he'll ask me to prepare it, He can have chat at any time. Aloo Tikki Chat is a mouthwatering recipe.


RECIPE:


Cooking Time: 30-35 mins
Preparation Time: 15-20 mins
Serve: 3-4



Ingredients:

White Peas Chole:

White peas: 250 grms(Soak overnight and pressure cook till soft)
Onion: 1 large(finely chopped)
Tomato: 1 large(finely chopped)
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tsp
Cumin seed:1/4 tsp
Turmeric pwd: 1/4 tsp
Cumin pwd: 1/2 tsp
Coriander pwd: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala pwd: 3/4 tsp
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp
Salt to test
Oil as per required


Aloo Tikki:

Boiled potato: 2 large(mashed)
Bread slice: 4( remove sides)
Roasted cumin pwd: 1/2 tsp
Chilli pwd: 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves: 2 tsp (finely chopped)
Salt to taste

Green chutney as required
Tamarind chutney as required
Thick curd as required( beaten till smooth)
Roasted cumin pwd: 1-2 tbsp
Chat masala as required
Onion: 1 medium( finely chopped)
Sev to garnish
Coriander leaves to garnish




Method:

White Peas Chole:

  1. Heat oil in pan/ kadai and add cumin seeds, when it start spluttering add ginger garlic paste and fry for a min then add onion and cook till onion turns light brown in color.
  2. Add finely chopped tomato,cumin pwd, coriander pwd, chilli pwd,turmeric pwd and salt. Cook till oil start separating.
  3. Add cooked peas and garam masala pwd, coriander leaves and mix well. Add little water if needed. Cook for 4-5 mins.
Aloo Tokki:

  1. Take a bowl and mix boiled potato,bread slices, roasted cumin pwd, chilli pwd, coriander leaves and salt.
  2. Divide mixture into lemon size ball.
  3. Press these mixture ball to make a round shape tikki
  4. Heat tava/griddle and shallow fry these tikki on both side till they turn golden brown in color.

Prepare Chat:

  1. Place 2-3 aloo tikki on serving plate.
  2. Pour 2-3  ladles of chole. Then add 1-2 tbsp of curd/yogurt.
  3. Drizzle tamarind chutney and green chutney(as per taste).
  4. Now garnish with chopped onion, sev, chopped coriander leaves.
  5. Sprinkle chat masala, roasted cumin pwd and chilli pwd.
