Stuffed Potato Balls



Looking for something different... other than the regular ones... Try Stuffed Potato Ball. It's a tasty tea time snacks item  prepared using boiled potato and paneer, where paneer is used as stuffing.


RECIPE:

Cooking Time: 15-20 mins
Preparation Time: 20-25 mins

Ingredients:

For Potato balls:

Potato: 2-3 medium( boiled and mashed)
Bread: 3-4 slices(crumbled)
Salt: a pinch

For Stuffing:

Paneer: 1/3 cup(grated or crumbled)
Onion: 2 tbsp( finely chopped)
Tomato: 1 tbsp( finely chopped)
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp( finely chopped)
Cumin pwd:  1/4 tsp
Chilli pwd: 1/6 tsp
Kitchen king masala: 1/6 tsp
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs: 1/3 cup
Cornflour: 2 tbsp
Oil for deep frying



Method:

  1. Combine the potato, salt and crumbled bread and mix well to make a smooth dough.
  2. Heat 1 tsp oil in pan and add the onion and cook till it turns light brown in color then add tomato. Cook till tomato is soft then add cumin pwd, chilli pwd, kitchen king masala and salt and cook till oil starts separating. Keep aside and cool down.
  3. Now Divide potato dough in equal size ball.( the size of ball should not be to big or to small).
  4. Take a potato dough ball and press in center( as shown in pic) and place a portion of stuffing and cover it by pressing/collecting edges at center( shown in pic).
  5. Now mix cornflour in 1/2 cup of water.
  6. Take a stuffed ball, dip in cornflour mixture, then put in bread crumbs bowl. Coat the ball with bread crumbs.
  7. Heat sufficient oil in pan and deep fry these potato balls till brown in color on medium heat.
  8. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
