Veg Upma



Veg Upma is simplest breakfast option. Upma is prepared using rava and few veggies. It is well known South Indian breakfast.

RECIPE:

Cooking Time:  10-12 mins
Preparation Time: 10-15 mins
Cuisine: South Indian


Ingredients:


Rava: 1 cup
Onion: 1 small(finely chopped)
Green chilli: 1(finely chopped)
Carrot: 1/4 cup(finely chopped)
Green peas: 1/4 cup
Curry Leaves: 5-8 nos
Coriander Leavea: 2 tbsp( finely chopped)
Lemon juice: 1 tsp
Split urad dal: 1/3 tsp
Rai/mustard seed: 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking

Method:


  1. Dry roast rava, till light brown in color.
  2. Now 1-2 tbsp oil in pan/kadai and add mustard seed, when it start spluttering then add urad dal and curry leaves.
  3. Now add green chilli and onion, and fry for 3-4 mins. 
  4. Then add carrot and cook till carrot is soft. Now add peas and cook for another 3-4 mins.
  5. Meanwhile boil 2 cups of water and keep aside.
  6. Now add boiling water and salt to fried ingredients.
  7. Add roasted rava slowly and mix well, add chopped coriander and lemon juice and mix well
  8. Serve hot with chutney.
