Rajma(Kidney Beans)  popular north Indian veg dish. It consists of kidney beans in thick onion tomatoes gravy and goes well with steamed rice. Rajma is one of the most loved Punjabi dish.

Kidney Beans(rajma): 1Cup(Soaked overnight)
Onion: 2 Medium size(Finely chopped)
Tomatoes: 2 Medium(Finely Chopped)
Ginger garlic paste: 1tsp
Turmeric: 1/4 tsp
Cumin Pwd: 1/2 tsp
Coriander Pwd: 1/2 tsp
Chilli Pwd: 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 tsp
Kitchen king: 1/2 tsp
Bay Leaves: 1-2
Salt to taste
Oil: 2-3tbsp


  1. Take the kidney beans in pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistle or till soft.
  2. Heat the oil in pan and bay leaves, onion, ginger garlic paste and saute for 5-10 mins or till onion turns brown.
  3. Add the tomatoes and cook till it turn soft, then add turmeric pwd, cumin pwd, coriander pwd, chilli pwd, kitchen king pwd, salt and cook till oil starts separating.
  4. Add kidney beans(rajma) along with water. Add garam masala and mix well and cook for another 10-15 mins on low heat.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice(white rice).
